The lift rises smoothly between decks; the Consortium keeps their equipment in perfect working order. Not like the rattling death traps they let humans use in places like Little Earth. Even the emergency lighting looks expensive, all sleek lines and subtle power indicators that probably cost more than my yearly fuel budget.
